Oh..wonderful teachers! !
Oh Wonderful Teachers! ! ! !

Of all the many salient features
of childhood I remember teachers.
Right after birth you get attention,
they cater to you, not to mention
free food and lodging and those rattles
with which to fight your frequent battles,
when no one listens to you crying
and Dad pretends that you are lying,
yet overall, all those distractions
and those which trigger strange reactions
are not what I would call oppressive
or, even in a pinch obsessive..
.Back to the subject, the main feature
which, after all, is what a teacher
does to an innocent, still growing,
developing and overflowing,
perceptive and receptive student,
it seems to me it would be prudent
to lay all cards upon the table.
A teacher, though extremely able,
and with the best of all intentions
can teach you math and those inventions
that are considered quintessential
for kids to harness their potential.
He'll teach you how to write to Nana,
about the bend in the banana,
and photosynthesis of grasses,
the volatile and inert gases,
about the nature of the STASI
and what went wrong with Ester hazy,
he shows you how to draw a stallion
and how to count in good Italian,
why Hitler ended up in power
and how an insect-eating flower
digests the flesh of German roaches
Do not forget their role as coaches.
They must be anchored in Gymnastics
so that they turn the dumbest spastic
into an athlete and achiever, and,
as a genuine busy beaver
he is a jack of all persuasions,
which comes in handy on occasions
of idiosyncratic troubles,
a teacher thinks and rubs his stubbles
around the chin for stimulation
of dormant neurons on vacation,
and students sit in awe and ponder
how soon the bell will ring, they wonder
how any human can stay jolly
when faced with this forsaken folly.
And in the end, when years have faded
and all your teachers judged and graded
you as a product of the system,
you'll find that after all, you've missed them
Teachers are the best gifts of god,
For them I shall applaud.
I express to them my gratitude
For instilling in me a wonderful attitude.A teacher is like a candle,
Burning it self to others advantage.
All their life they work selfless,
To open up the world of knowledge.
They shape up our personalities,
And make us understand responsibilities.
Moral values are what they make us imbibe,
To follow their teachings, we all strive.
When they check us,
We dare not fuss
Because their guidance and zest,
Makes us better than the best.
‘I wish I were a teacher’,
I would have students to nurture.
This is how I can repay,
To my immortal and adorable preachers
If I should meet you
on the dusty road of life
Do not despair for I am your teacher
If you should stumble
while crossing my muddy path
Do not despair for you are my teacher
If we should cry alone
and falter in hurricane winds
Do not despairfor they are our teachers
If our souls should meet again
with tattered and worn-out shoes
Do not despairfor we have not learned....
That little cherub sitting there
With eager eyes and expectant air
Who knows what he may become...Perhaps
a doctor, lawyer, preacherPoliceman, executive, senator or 'rep'
He could blossom into another
good teacher. He might even become our PresidentOr be well equipped
for other walks in life.
That little one may prove to be History's essential vital link
Because a good teacher made him- think!
Teachers we love you,
For all the kind things you do,
using your teaching tools and talents,
Keeping everything in balance,
Bringing out the student's very best,
So they will always pass the test,
We know for you, it is essential,
For them to reach their potential,
In teaching, a teacher goes out of her way,
By bringing in items to aid, day after day,
At times, we know, that there is stress,
Hoping the stress is o'er shadowed with success,
A teacher has patience unending,
Unselfishly of the time spending,
Teachers, we all hope that you know,
That we do care and love you so,
With our love and appreciation,
You are ranked right up with the best in the nation........
“THANK YOU, Oh! Wonderful teachers.”
