Goodbye |
As i sat by your side, I prayed this was not it.
But it was not fair.
I saw you getting tired and knew you had to go.
I sat by your side as you slowly slipped away.
It must have been the longest goodbye.
As each moment passed i prayed for more.
I knew i wasn't being fair.
But i just couldn't let you go.
You taught me so many lessons in life.
To love and be strong and God would do the rest.
I decided to take your advice.
I always loved you and now it was time to be strong.
I held your hand in your last few moment helping you to be strong.
God answered my prayers and stopped your suffering and gave you peace at last.
These past few days have been hard.
They just flew past in a blur.
On that dark day we said our final goodbye.
All we can do now is look back on our memories.
Of all the laughter we shared, And the days that we cherished.
People say I'm doing well.
I'm being strong and getting on with my life.
But deep down inside i know that your not really gone.
We may not be able to see you anymore.
But that does not mean that your not here.
You are my eyes when i can not see, And my soul when i can not live.
All i have to do now is say. So long, fare well.
Save me a seat next to you. |
