Thank You For Showing Me

Mother, you are so full of love and compassion
I wish I could understand the depth of it all
You have always been there for me
Picking me up whenever I fall

I was brought into this world
With your loving hands
I became your biggest baby
All according to God's plans

You have given me all that you could
And took away the things I didn't need
Your encouragement still pushes me along
Continually helping me succeed

Your motherly love
Has always provided me with a place to run to
No matter what the trial
You were right there by my side, helping me get through

Your meals are wonderful
No matter what you cook
I wish you could see what I see
Try if you wish, take a closer look

I see my best friend
Someone whose always there
To lift me up when I fall
And always send a prayer

I see a God-created beauty
In body, heart, and mind
You could search the world over
But another one of you would be hard to find

I see a devoted worker
Striving to make demands
I love you for what you do
Someday I'll understand

Mom, poetry is not enough
To tell you how much you're appreciated
I wish I could express myself
Because my feelings have accumulated

Thinking about all you do
Brings me to tears
Thank you for loving me Mom
All throughout the years

I look up to you and all that you do
Thank you for showing me
The person who I love most
The person I want to be

You've created a home
And have worked so extra hard
So that's why I wrote this poem
And made this card

I love you Mom with all my heart.
