Afterglow

LORD? We have come together,
Our passion truly spent.
I nestle in my husband's arms
Surrounded by his scent.

His gaze towards me is tender,
His arms hold me so near,
I hear his heartbeat's rhythm.
With him I have no fear.

Naked with my husband
My soul is laid bare, too.
He knows me as his true beloved
With joy that's ever new.

Deeply I am comforted
Secure within his love.
Gently I drift off to sleep
Sheltered from above.
