Someone close about to let go

Oh how my heart feared for this day - this day when i have to be happy that you cannot stay; i do not wish that you do not go on in life; but the feeling is only strife, i cannot let you go. and i wont let you know because i want you to grow but yet this time is taking you from me so i will keep my mourning low; and smile for you as you throw that graduation hat high into the sky and never look back upon into the memories of our school days together. Don't let me get in your way of your strong path in life. I surely know this is wrong,.
but./ you my dear one will take apiece of my heart wherever you may go, and i cannot live my life. knowing that maybe - ill slip and you will not reach for me
