The Ozzie Mozzie

When I was just a little larva
I'd sit and listen to my father
Who'd say: "be proud that you're an Ozzie
but better still an Ozzie Mozzie."

You'll have fun sucking blood
collecting lurgi from the mud.
Take notice of your cousin fleas, son
and grab bad diseases, every one

Go find a human with malaria
Suck his blood then go, I dare ya.
Find a disease free Yank or Ozzie
Pass it on a like a good mozzie.

Have some fun, son do what's right
Wait for some humid tropic night
Then buzz like crazy. Then you know what
It's quite a hoot to watch them swat.

Your great, great grandpa learned his trade
When all mosquitoes had it made
Practiced in Hong Kong and Guam
Manila, North and South Vietnam

But! lad please be on your guard
When patrolling in someone's back yard
Beware the coils and insect spray
If to a barbecue you'll stray.

Be brave my, lad, fly and enjoy.
Swoop and buzz, sting and annoy
Go for man, woman and child.
Cat, dog, rat. Son, just drive 'em wild.

Life can be sweet if you're a mozzie
Be glad that you're an Ozzie mozzie.
