The Caterpillar

I can cope
Said the caterpillar
With all of its hope
That this object that falls
Shall stop and shan't meet me at all

The caterpillar held his breath
Crossed it many legs... and...
In the shadow of that size 5 doc boot
The caterpillar shook

The caterpillar thought about his mate
Who had suffered a similar fate
to be served on a Tupperware plate
after hooked and eaten whilst used as bate

Now would the caterpillar be dead
Or saved by newly moulded tread?

The boot descended
The fluids expended
Through the caterpillars head
The caterpillar was...
Dead.
