I'm Fine Thanks

I can't remember me name and I can't remember me age, but I'm awfully good for the shape I'm in, I think? ,

I'm Fine Thanks
The story I'm about to unfold
Is for you and me wots getting old,
Its better to say you're fine with a grin
Then to lets folks know the shape your in,

I've arthritis in both of me knees
And when I talk I talk with a whizz,
And the uplifts that support me feet
Enable me to get out on the street,

Me pulse is weak and me blood is thin
Me memories fading and me head's in a spin,
And me sleep is denied me each and every night
With the outrageous nightmares I have till light,

How do I know me youth is all spent
Well me get-up-go has got-up-and went,
But I don't really mind when I think with a grin
Of all the grand places me get-up has been,

Now old age is golden I've heard it said
But I sometimes do wonder as I flop into bed,
With uplifts in a drawer me teeth in a cup
And me eyes on the table for when I wake up,

Then it's early to rise and the morning's the pits
So I pick up the paper and read the obits,
If me name's still missing I know I'm not dead
So I have a pot and a pea and I crawl back to bed,

There's nothing wrong with me
I'm as fine as I can be,
Well I'm awfully good for the shape I'm in,
I'm fine thanks, says me with a grin.
