Long Distance

One of the many things we share with our friends is self-deprecating humor. This tongue-in-cheek verse was written long ago, for a chum that always enjoyed a good laugh.,

Long Distance
When the 'Old Man' blows his horn,
And his children flock to his side,
I hope you'll be there, too,
For that final joyous ride.

And if you see our friends,
All upward, heavenly bound,
Tell them that I'll miss them,
And miss having them around.

But the ones that you don't see,
The ones going somewhere nearer,
Well - I'll tell those friends you'll miss them,
When I see them coming here.

Treasures
Few things exist in life that qualify as perfect. In this poem, I attempt to delineate a few of those I've known, and in doing so, let someone know she's one of them.
