Sweet 16

Candles light
there they stand
on her birthday
singing her song
her boi's arms wrapped around her waist
bending over blowing out her candles
todays the day
shes finally 16
finally able to be free
but not much
just a little
sweet 16
no more fears
and no more tears
shes finally found her place
this is where her life begins
sweet 16
now shes buckling down
doing what shes found
sweet 16
now this girl is finally free
as they all sit and finish singing her song
she smiles and says thank you
Today shes 16
soon she will be 17
then 18
Going on and on
Soon she will be an adult
But right now
she is free
to be herself
sweet 16
