Birthday Wish6
Mom lights the candles
Sister holds the camera
Everyone watches,
Waiting for me to make my wish
I know it won't come true
I know you won't think of me today
So I hide my look of dismay
And blow out the candles
On this sad, lonely birthday

I glance at the phone
I look at the clock
No one knows
But once again,
you've ruined my day
I know I'll send you a card soon
I know you may cry, or be angry
But then again, at least you'll know,
I thought of you, dad, on your birthday
